Vicki is president of the local WI called Mytholmroyd Marmaladies, who meet once a month at the local Cricket Club for a talk and cake and have a few groups like a craft club and a walking group. She is part of the children’s schools PTFA and does a lot of fundraising all year round, including managing the Christmas fayre for 4 years. She helps with social media for 6 groups on Facebook; these all promote activities within the valley. She loves being part of the community and organising a lot of great events.
Vicki and her husband are big cricket fans and when they moved to West Yorkshire they realised there were 200 clubs within a twenty mile radius from Sowerby Bridge. They found a big empty room on the top floor of an old mill and TCA was born, they opened the doors in January 2012 and it has gone from strength to strength. The cricket world is like a big family with the day to day interactions with customers and the team, it is never a dull moment!
“I am very passionate about cricket and the community where I live and work so this is a great opportunity to combine them both. I am excited to bring Cricket to those who ordinarily wouldn’t play and look forward to spreading the word of The Cricket Asylum Foundation.”
