Success for TCAF Scholarships…

2020 has already seen TCA Foundation award four more scholarships to aspiring young players, these youngsters are all keen to progress in the game and have the commitment and attitude to do well in the future. We wish them all the best for 2020!

“Cricket can give a youngster many valuable experiences and at TCA Foundation believe all young players should have access to these potential experiences.”

One of our long term scholarship beneficiaries has had an amazing season in 2020, back in 2017 Aadam Ali was recommended to us by his former school teacher, who asked if there was anything that can be done for a very keen young man, who has shown plenty of potential playing for his local club Glodwick CC in Oldham.

After successfully being awarded a scholarship Aadam has worked extremely hard to make the most of some, in his own words “life changing opportunities and experiences”. Aadam’s TCAF scholarship has allowed him to benefit from consistent access to specialist coaching sessions and funding to buy new equipment.

The 2020 season saw Aadam being selected for Lancashire county age group teams for the first time, and to say he made the most if his chance would be an understatement! In the Lancashire u14s team Aadam took over 40 wickets with his leg spin bowling, earning him the Player of the Year award and a place on the prestigious Emerging Player Programme.

TCAF Trustee and Head Coach at the Cricket Asylum, Matt Dawson, describes Aadam as ‘Truly inspirational’, saying ‘it is a pleasure to have been given the opportunity to work with Aadam and I look forward to seeing his progress over the coming years. Aadam is lucky to be part of Glodwick CC who are an amazing club, and we’re proud we’ve been able to add to that support’

Aadam continues to work hard and enjoy his game with the full support of TCA Foundation. It’s events like the 24hr Netathon that make scholarships possible, and as the charity continues to grow we look forward to supporting many more aspirational young people achieve their goals.
