Compass Community Children’s Homes

Compass Community look after children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Part of their work is to offer new opportunities to these children in the hope that they find inspiration and learn valuable life lessons from the role models they work with. Between May and June 2016 they took part in six cricket coaching sessions at the Cricket Asylum, the children present engaged with both the activities on offer and the coaches very well. The staff at Compass Community noted an improvement in the children’s behaviour that was a direct result of the Cricket sessions.

“Can you please pass my thanks on to the coaching team, primarily to Jack who we all thought was amazing with the students. Staff within the homes where the boys live commented on the fact that they had very little trouble getting the boys out of bed on a Monday, with PE being the prime reason for this. We’ve been able to use these sessions as a real incentive for behaviour and I think Jack was brilliant with some potentially challenging students.” Chris Hughes- Compass Community
